Hacking plants. Wait, it’s not what you think… #arduino (at Stanford Villa)
Plants need TLC, sometimes that’s listening to them. They have a lot to say, especially if you feed and water them regularly.
This prototype has an Arduino Leonardo breadboarded to read resistance between two sensors (jumper wires for now). The laptop displays the serial monitor reading of resistance between the two wires (soil).
Water the plant, conductivity goes up. I plan to use this information to program the Arduino to trigger an output (message to Twitter or other means) when it reads a resistance through a series of resistance ranges.
